Kalapathar, the base of the Lunakla, a pass to the Muguthang valley, home of the "Drokpas." We visited this place on 1st May. Kalapathar is half and hour drive from Thangu which is 30kms above Lachen in North Sikkim, here the road ends for Muguthang, a 3-4 hours trek will get you to Lhonak la [Pass] and a gentle walk down into the valley is Muguthang. Here lives the nomadic tibetain yak herder....
